Description
This is one of the most important books relating to any White House renovation. The report was compiled for the Commission by Edward Bateman Morris. Morris was an architect and author from Bethesda, Maryland. It was published by the U.S. Government Printing Office in 1952 as one of the last items of business of the Commission. This book is the standard reference on Truman’s renovation. It is filled with photos and illustrations, but the most interesting section is the Appendix that is filled with valuable details and a great timeline of the renovation.
The book is hardbound with a burgundy leatherette cover featuring gold foil stamping. It is 8.5×11 inches with 116 pages. Most of the copies are in nice condition but may have minor wear, especially on the spine and corners. Some may have an inscription inside. Overall, for a book that has been around for 70 years, they are in great condition. These are difficult to find. You will be pleased with the content and condition.
A wonderful addition to any renovation souvenir collection!
